For the cake:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 °F.
  2. Add all the cake ingredients to a bowl and mix together with an electric mixer just until they are combined.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased 13x9 inch baking pan
  4. Bake at 350 °F degrees for about 45-50 minutes.

For the frosting:

  1. Place the butter, cream cheese, and vanilla in a large bowl.
  2. Beat the ingredients together until they’re creamy.
  3. Gradually add the confectioners sugar to the bowl and beat until the frosting is smooth.
  4. Frost the cake while it’s still warm.
  5. Garnish the top of the cake with crushed nuts if you like.
