Grandma's Banana Walnut Bread
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup mashed banana
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Directions
- Mix sugar, shortening, and eggs.
- Beat by hand until light.
- Blend in banana.
- Add sifted dry ingredients, beating until smooth.
- Stir in walnuts.
- Pour into greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.
- Bake at 350 °F for 60 to 70 minutes.
- Cool on rack.
